How to use it

  1. Step 1

    Count the plates

Set the number of metal plates visible in the lock. The editor supports 2 to 7 plates.

  2. Step 2

    Place each pin

Use the sliders to match the current pin hole for each plate. The highlighted target column is where the pins should align.

  3. Step 3

    Add plate links

For each ordered plate relation, choose None, Same, or Opposite depending on how turning one plate moves another plate.

  4. Step 4

    Copy the shortest route

The BFS solver searches safe moves and outputs the shortest move list it can find for the current lock model.

FAQ

Is this for Gothic 1 Remake or classic Gothic?

This page targets the Gothic 1 Remake plate-and-pin lockpicking puzzle. Classic Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 use left/right sequence locks, which are a different mechanic.

Why are the catalog locks marked practice instead of verified?

The solver UI and BFS engine are ready, but real chest entries are only marked verified after lock semantics and sample chest data are checked against actual Gothic 1 Remake gameplay.

What does Same or Opposite mean?

Same means a linked plate moves in the same direction as the plate you move. Opposite means it moves in the reverse direction. None means the two plates are independent.

Does the solver use a server or AI?

No. The lock search runs locally in your browser with a deterministic breadth-first search. No lock setup is uploaded.

This is an unofficial fan-made tool and is not affiliated with THQ Nordic, Alkimia Interactive, Piranha Bytes, or Gothic.

The solver is built for the Gothic 1 Remake lockpicking puzzle model. Classic Gothic 1/2 left-right sequence locks use a different mechanic.

Real chest catalog entries are only marked verified after game-side calibration data is available.
